So I have been out of school since May and yet have only read eight books. Hmmm, that's not too good. But, I suppose it's better than none. I enjoy reading. Especially when the book is really good.. Let's see the eight books that I have read so far are Kissing Frogs, Roommates Wanted, Shutter Island, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, PS I Love You, Agnes and the Hitman, House Rules, and In a Heartbeat. (Meana, have you read House Rules? It's by Jodie Picoult.)
The next book I am going to read is Under the Dome by Stephen King. I also have a few other library books lying around that I might read.
I like when books are turned into movies. Shutter Island, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, and PS I Love You have all been made into movies. It's interesting to see what they change and what they keep the same when you compare a book to the movie. I was sorta disappointed though because I had read Shutter Island before I saw the movie so I was aware of what was going to happen and there were no surprises. The book and movie were still good though. The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud was an ok read. I really want to see the movie. It looks pretty good. PS I Love You was a bittersweet book/movie.
Sometimes it can be annoying when they add things to the movie that weren't in the book or take things out. In a way, books leave more to the imagination... You can picture the characters in your head a certain way. Whereas when a certain actor/actress plays the character, that might not be the way you pictured them to look,etc. What do you think? Is the book usually better than the movie version?
For me, I guess it would depend on the book/movie. Take A Walk To Remember for example. I thought that the movie seems better than the book because it's more from a time period that was closer to me than the in the book. That is just one of the reasons. I was trying to think of a book that was better than a movie, not getting that far with that right now. I'm sure there's a bunch though.
Anyone have any suggestions of books that I should read? Or any good movies that you think I might like? Please leave a comment if you think of any, thanks in advance. :)

Recap of the last few days
It has been awhile since I have written on here. I posted a video on for video Monday, but that doesn't really count writing wise since I wrote like a couple of sentences. So what have I been up to lately and why haven't I been writing on here? Good question, but the answer is pretty boring and is not a whole lot. I am trying to think of something exciting that happened...
Saturday night I met Cat and Emily at Emily's house and we went to the mall to hang out for awhile, where we met up with Brooke. That was fun. After the mall we went to Burger King. Then we went to the movies, where we saw Eclipse. I was the only one who hadn't seen the movie yet. It was pretty good, sort of long. You could tell more so some of the people who hadn't seen it were the ones who laughed at all the parts you were supposed to laugh at. We sat in the back row. Which was good because then we could wiggle around in seats and not worry about bothering the people behind us. So overall the night was a lot of fun. It's nice to be able to hang out with friends and have a good time.
On Sunday, I went with the family to the lake. (Located in Greenfield.)That was pretty fun. We left around 9:30 and got there a little after 10. We got our spot because we arrived relatively early.(Yes, we have gone there enough by now that we have a favorite spot.) It was good fun. Dad, Spencer, and Sage were able to toss around the football for a little while, while mom and I sat and watched. Later on we had lunch, which was subs, soda, and chips. Then after lunch they all went swimming. Which I didn't do for certain reasons. Then they tossed the football around in the water. I participated some as well. Not too much though since I couldn't go too far out without getting wet from everything. I still ended up getting wet though but it was still fun. I just hope that next time we go I will be able to swim and everything. Later on Sunday we decided to watch The Dark Knight. (Which we own on dvd but never really watched... aside from the fact that I saw it in theaters twice. It was still a good movie. I forgot how long it is. Heath Ledger does a great job as the joker.
Let's see, nothing too exciting happened on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Those have pretty much been lazy days. One thing that I have done a lot of lately is play The Sims 3. I was all excited when it came out a little over a year ago. When I first got, it I played for awhile and then stopped for months on end. So recently, I think it was Monday or Tuesday, I started playing again and got really in to it. This is good because it gives me something to do. It's funny how time goes by so fast in the game. The sims days can go by in what would probably only be like an hour or so in our time. (It would also depend on what speed you put everything to happen on.)One of the sims 3 families I created ended up having 6 kids. That family has turned into quite a handful. Another family I recently made consisted of a young adult who I wanted to be in the music industry and she is now a rockstar! She got married a little while before that to a nice guy. They now have a kid. (Note to self when making a sim with purple hair, figure in to it that future offspring may also have purple hair.) But anyways, here I am going on like these "people" actually exist.
It's funny though how in some ways the sims is easier than to real life. For example, after you create a sim and move them into a house, they already have 20,000 simoleons. If only life was like that where when you first started out, you earned free money. There is also cheats in the sims. One of the most popular is the cheat for money.
Another thing that I did on Wednesday was parallel parking. My dad set up something up in our driveway. So for a little bit yesterday, he taught me how to parallel park. It will definitely help me in the long run because then I can get closer to getting my license, speaking of which I should probably start studying the driver's manual soon... That way I don't cram it all in last minute.
Today I don't know what I am going to do. I will probably spend some more time practicing parallel parking. I might play the sims 3 some more. Also I might catch up on some of my shows online or read a book. There is a possibility that I might hang out with some friends later tonight or perhaps tomorrow. So that will be something to look forward to.

When I had her age age up from baby to toddler, the purple hair appeared. So now she's stuck with it. The mother's (Jenna)outfit is a bit too revealing. This is the outfit she wears now that she is a rockstar. Not something I picked... The only normal one in the family seems to be Stiles (the dad).

Finally Thursday!!
So it is finally Thursday!! The day that I have been waiting for. Emily and I are heading to Maine in a little while. We are going to go up and meet Andy, who has been working at a summer camp. We are going to stay over night at a hotel and hang out. Tomorrow will be fun too because we might go to the beach while we're up there. It will be nice to hang out with both of them. I haven't seen Andy in a really long time.
It will be nice to get away, even if it's just for a day. I need to remember to take my camera and take pictures. Oh, and videos are always fun too. That way I can eventually make another slideshow in like 5 years. Plus it's just nice to be able to take lots of pictures of all the fun times. That way you can look back on them and smile.
The place is somewhere in Portland. I am not sure of the name. No one told me, but Emily has the address so all is good. The cost for staying there for one night is only $109. So that's not too bad. About $36 a piece. Plus it has a pool and hot tub.
I'm sure it will be fun. So I am going to go pack now. Which shouldn't take long since it's only for like a day.

Procrastination- Enough is enough already!
There are so many things that I have put of doing in my life. The biggest would have to be getting my license. I still don’t have my license and I’m already 19 years old. Most teens get their licenses right away. You could say that it’s the highlight of turning 16. In a way it represents being free. When you have a license you can go places when you want and it’s up to you. (Well you need a car to do that too, but you know what I mean.)
No more having to rely on other people to get you from point a to point b. I am still stuck having to rely on other people. It makes me feel bad sometimes to have to ask them. But when you don’t have your license there isn’t much that can be done. It’s even worse having to rely on my parents for rides. They don’t always feel like taking me places either. And who can blame them that can get annoying pretty quick. There have been times when people have asked me if I had gotten my license yet. I hate having to tell them that no, I do not have it yet.
In the beginning when I put off getting it, my parents were all oh it’s our fault too. But honestly, it’s not their fault. It’s my fault and that’s something that I need to get over. My mother will say from time to time that I should be begging her to let me drive. (What kind of teenager am I?) There were times when she had to beg me to drive. That is how out of hand it has gotten. Other times I would downright refuse. Which one could say doesn’t make that much sense since I should be begging to get in the driving.
I did attempt to get my license once a few summers ago. I think it was the summer that I was going into 12th grade. I was by no means prepared to go in and do the actual driving part.(I passed the written part.) I was extremely nervous and did not do many things well enough. One big thing is parallel parking. Oh man, I could not do that if my life depended on it.
There have even been times recently when I refused to drive. This is silly because some of the times that that happened had been areas that I was familiar with. Why? I am an okay driver, don’t get me wrong. I just seem to be lacking all of the confidence that I need. Plus, I still need to work on some areas.
My goal for myself is to go in and get my license at the end of the month. I am going to try to drive every chance I get. This is something that needs to get done. It has been something that has been holding me back far too long. I want to be able to drive myself places. (Plus I need to in order to continue college in the fall.) To finally have the freedom that comes with that. And to let go of the things that have been holding me back.

It Finally Happened...
So folks, the day had finally come... Nika missed a day of writing on her blog. It was bound to happen sooner than later. That's okay though because no one is perfect. It would have been nearly impossible to write everyday for a year. I contemplated writing yesterday and then decided not to. I got distracted with looking up music and stuff for my best-friend.
Let's see, what did I do yesterday? I went to Massachusetts with Meana, Munca, and mom for a good part of the day. That wasn't too exciting, but it got me out of the house. We got home around 7:30 that night.
Then shortly after, Emily came over to hang out. We attempted to make friendship bracelets but it was too complicated and so we gave up. Then we got bored so we went to Barnes and Noble for awhile. When we were there we talked and gathered books to skim through while we sat at one of the little tables. (Barnes and Noble is a cool place to come and hang out. Plus they have the little cafe. It also has an advantage of being one of the few places in NH that is open after 9 PM.) After Barnes and Noble I went back home.
Today I got up early to go to the New Boston parade with my parents, Meana, and Munca. We met up with Bonnie, her kids, my cousin Chris, and my brothers. It was an okay parade. Surprisingly it seemed to last awhile. That gave us something to do. Then after the parade Meana and Munca left.
So now I am sitting here on the couch in the living room writing a blog that really is not too exciting... Just goes over the events from the yesterday and today.
It's such a nice day out. Even if it is like 90. I can't believe that it's going to be in the 90s at least until Friday... That's crazy. Of course that's summer for you. Hoping that I can go to the beach or lake again this week because it definitely is the perfect weather for it.

Beach Day, etc.
So today was a nice day. Meana and Munca arrived this afternoon all the way from Florida. It's nice that they are here and that I can spend some time with them.
Later in the afternoon, I went to the ocean with Emily and her mom. That was a fun way to spend the afternoon. Eric (Emily's boyfriend) ended up meeting us there too. It was definitely a good beach day. It was hot at times but not too bad. A good part of the time was spent searching for sand dollars. Unfortunately, we did not find any. The water was freezing... After awhile though, it wasn't too bad. We did not swim in it. Just waded in and let the waves splash against us. (How are people able to go swimming when the water is so cold? I am too much of a chicken for an intense thing like that.) It's always fun to write stuff in the sand too. We did that some. Then it became like a competition though and we would try to see who could write their words in the sand the biggest. It was also fun to walk along the water.
A huge plus was that it wasn't as crowded as Hampton. So nice to not feel like everywhere you went there was a sea of people. Which can get quite annoying because you always feel like you are going to step on them. I would probably pick Wallis Sands any day over Hampton. But then I am not so sure in a way... Since Hampton has the board walk and other stuff to do. So I guess it would all depend on what you were in the mood for that day. If you want "hustle and bustle", then pick Hampton, if you are in the mood for relaxing and less crowds, then Wallis is the place to go. I suppose I can just alternate between the two of them... I think it would be cool to rent a house on the beach. It would be fun to just pack everything that would be needed and spend the day hanging out on the beach.
It's weird in a way, I got out of school over a month ago and yet I am just starting to do summer like things. I went to both the lake and the beach last week. Then the beach again today. It's nice to be out of school and just be able to enjoy things. Although there are days that can be boring at times.
Tomorrow should be fun. My mom, Meana, and I are going to Savers. That should be a good time. Hopefully we can all find some good stuff. One thing I am looking for in particular is a dress for S & T's wedding. Which is only a month a way. Seems like it's going to be a lot of fun. I haven't been to a wedding in awhile.
So this is the end of the post. I suppose that I will go to bed a bit early tonight, since I have to get up earlier than I usually do. It's 11:52 PM which is still early for me. I usually go to bed between the hours of 1 and 4.
Goodnight fellow bloggers, and people who do not have blogs but like to read those who do. :)

Social Networking Sites/Internet- Past, Present, and Future
What was life like before Facebook? Or any social networking sites, for that matter. They have definitely changed the way people keep in touch with others. It makes me wonder how much longer Facebook will be popular. Will it just be a gradual change or will it happen right away? Keep in mind Myspace used to be really popular back in the day. Now I do not know that many people who go on their account on a regular basis. I"ll admit, I still have a myspace but I hardly ever go on it. When I do, I go on for like a few minutes. I tried deleting my account once, but it was too much of a pain so I just kept it.
This brings me to another point. How many websites and stuff do you think people have just "floating around" in cyberspace? I for one, have a couple of old blogs, one of which I found like a week ago. It's weird to me how stuff can be online for what seems like forever. I also used to make accounts on different websites, some of which after I made the account on I don't think I've been back to since.
Back to Facebook... I spend some much time on Facebook each week. It is probably not a good thing. lol. When there's nothing else to do, it's like I'll go on Facebook to see what my friends are up to. I realized awhile back that if I actually deleted all the people I never see or even talk to, then I would not have a lot of friends left on Facebook. I mean I found some people I used to go to elementary school back when I lived in Milford. (That's going back to 4th grade.)
Anyway, it will definitely be interesting to see what social networking sites will be like in the future. Especially Facebook, will it still be here in 5 years? Or is something going to come along and become the next greatest thing? What will the internet and everything be like for future generations?

First Lake Trip of the Summer
Today was a pretty good day. I met Emily at her house because we had made plans to spend the afternoon at the lake. We ended up going to Walmart for awhile and had lunch at Subway.
By the time we got to the lake, it was three in the afternoon. When we were there, we listened to music, ate snacks, played a card game as well as Jenga. We also went in the water for a little while. It wasn't an extremely hot summer day, but it was nice to go to the lake and relax. Eric met up with us after he got out of work. Unfortunately, it started to rain shortly after he got there. So we went in the water for a little while and then left.
Then we hung out at Em's house for a little while, followed by Applebees for dinner and dessert. Fun was had by all. I am glad that it worked for us to hang out. After that, I went home and watched America's Got Talent. That leads up to where I am now.

Cutting it close...
Today was a good day. In the morning I went to yard sales with my mom. We ended up stopping at quite a few, but did not find anything too exciting.
In the afternoon I went to Emily's house. Which was nice because I had not hung out with her for awhile. She made me chili and we hung out and stuff. Then we went to Brooke's house to go swimming and Cat and other people were there.
After we hung out at Brooke's we went to the mall for an hour. Why does the mall close so early? There is like nothing to do after 9:00 on a Saturday night... Besides going out to eat. So it was decided that we hit up Burger King. It was nice to get to hang out with the three of them because we haven't all hung out in awhile. We are always able to have a good time. If only Erin had been there then it would have been complete.
After Burger King, Emily came over. We just hung out and watched videos on youtube, talked, and took pictures on my computer. It was still fun though. Don't get me wrong. I am always able to have fun with my best friend. We can always make each other laugh. We also watched a bunch of videos that I had on my computer from back in the day. These videos definitely captured many good times. There will be more good times in the future I am sure.
It is almost midnight, so I have to get this posted quick. Otherwise I will have missed a day of posting. So now I am off to go on Facebook for a bit, then read or watch a movie... Who knows. Good night. I will leave with a few pictures from our random photo shoot.

New Blog- Let's See Where This Goes...
I have decided quite unexpectedly to write a blog. This blog is going to be made up of my thoughts, feelings, etc. I challenge myself to write something each day for a year. Today is the 16th of June 2010, so the year will be up the 16th of June 2011. It will definitely be interesting to see what I can write and everything on here in a year. I am not going to focus on the spelling and grammar elements, so if anyone finds that to be a problem, then they can go elsewhere. After all, this blog is going to primarily focus on my growth throughout the year.
